I never liked writing about myself but if you’ve reached this page, I should probably tell you a bit about who I am.
I’m Roberto! Often nicknamed Bert, Berto or Rob depending on who you talk to, or JR from my family. I’m a Filipino born and raised in the middle of Canada in a place called Saskatoon (YXE), Saskatchewan.
I lived my whole life in Saskatoon, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in commerce in 2013 and working in a corporate office job for the past three years.
I’m 25 years old and I’ve never been away from my home for more than three weeks. My day-to-day life consisted of being at the office from 9-5 followed by fitness training and relaxing at home. On weekends, I’d typically meet up with friends, go out for food and drinks, and sometimes hit up the clubs.
Life was getting repetitive and I was getting bored. It was time for a change! On April 9, 2016, I left my amazing family and friends as well as a promising career to travel the world and see what’s out there. My bag was packed and I was on the way to Bangkok, Thailand with a one-way ticket.
I have no firm plans and no return date. I could be gone for six months or maybe even longer. All I know is that I’m excited to see where my travels take me!
